It was shortly after the end of the second World War that Mr. Alfons Roevens nursed the idea of producing tools for the Diamond Cutting Industry.
He founded a small company and from then onwards, Roevens became a trade name for anybody who needed diamond tools.
Mr. Roevens went on to develop a "dop", a small invention which greatly improved the process of polishing diamonds. This Roevens dop - also called little light dop - is one of the most successful inventions ever and is to date still the basis of the whole diamond polishing process.

The dop is now used in every diamond cutting factory around the world and many have tried to copy the design. But even now, after all those years, the Roevens dop is still the most precise and it easily surpasses every copy that has been made.

Health problems forced Mr. Alfons to hand over the running of the company to his sons. After a few years the company urgently needed to expand its capacity and Richard moved it to its present location. The factory is now state of the art, with the most advanced computerised machinery.

Since then, a third generation of Roevens has injected even more enthusiasm and skill into the company and as a result, a new factory has been opened in the Far East.
No doubt, the road of expansion and improvement is still long, but Roevens N.V. will go all the way !
